Smoothie Tips and Hints

The best feature of a smoothie is that they are easy to make. The editors of SmoothiesandMilkshakes.com have compiled a list of tips and hints to enable you to make the most of your smoothie making:

1. You can create a thicker smoothie by putting it in the freezer for 30 minutes before serving (after blending).
2. Some people find it easier to have a colder and thicker smoothie by freezing the fruit beforehand.
3. Fruit should be chosen at its peak of ripeness for the best taste. This only applies to fruit that isn’t frozen. Frozen fruit is picked and frozen at its peak.
4. When a recipe calls for juice, try to get freshly squeezed juice if possible. This will give you maximum flavor. If you can’t find homemade juice, you can still use store-bought juice
5. If you want a thinner smoothie, add more liquid (like juice) to your blender.
6. Yogurt smoothies make the creamiest smoothies. For a rich but less thick smoothie, use soy milk, coconut milk or milk.
7. Smoothies can be frozen and eaten like a Popsicle. Your kids will love this healthy treat!
8. You don’t have to adhere to a recipe fully. If you don’t have enough of an ingredient or are missing an ingredient, be creative and experiment. Smoothies and milkshake recipes are supposed to be fun!
